• Why You Shouldn’t Trust Most Internet Marketing “Experts”

Guru bashing is a popular online sport these days. It has become the in thing to talk about how people selling products in the IM niche are just churning out rubbish and that you should avoid everything at all costs.

So when I decided to write a post about internet marketing experts I didn’t want to sound like I was rehashing these sentiments without actually being sincere about it. On many occasions the very people telling you not to buy internet marketing products are the ones selling stuff themself – obviously they want you to buy theirs so will go to great lengths to discredit all others that they consider to be a competitor.

I have no products to sell in the IM niche so I can take a more external approach to this.. and I must say that I agree that buying every IM product under the sun does a lot of harm and very little good.

There is so much junk out there that it’s mind boggling. I can just say one thing: ignore the big launches and simply focus on YOUR strategy.

You should know by now that it is the simple things that work. There is no secret, no magic button and above all – no “guru” is going to EVER share any worthwhile strategy with you while it’s still working!

I’ll tell you one thing: the majority of people in the IM niche are NOT making their money doing affiliate marketing, CPA marketing or anything else that they claim to be – their income comes from selling products telling other people (like you) how to make money! Or to be more precise, how they THINK you can make money – of course they may have had some success with a strategy. But believe me, if something is making someone good money, the last thing you want to do is share it. It just doesn’t happen.

With all that said, there are still some internet marketing experts that are worth listening to and worthy of your attention. But these are few and far between.

Of course I can not speak for people that I don’t know – I don’t truly know how much anyone earns but when you see gurus churning out product after product for IM newbies, it makes you wonder if they are doing anything else besides that.

    So who do I trust?

Funnily enough they are fellow Australians – I think that’s just coincidence though!

Andrew Hansen I certainly know practices what he teaches. This guy was and is still involved in creating, marketing and researching affiliate marketing strategies. He is hands on and certainly very much involved in what he teaches, unlike most “gurus”.

I know this because Andrew and I have been conversing online for many years now, long before he even began selling IM products and the like. This guy is the real deal and that shines through in his Firepow blogging software which you can tell has been developed by someone who actually does this stuff (blogging, affiliate marketing etc) for a living.

Colleen Slater is another Aussie who walks the walk. Colleen and I conversed occasionally back in the first NMOC days, where I assisted her with a blog or two of hers that was and I believe still is making her $8000+ per month – not in the IM niche!

She has now grown her income to over $20,000 per month which is huge.

It was only recently that Colleen decided to share some of her strategies with people on her blog and in her product Blog Inferno.

Ok I’m sure there are others in the IM niche who also have great success in other niches, but to be honest I really am not interested. It is not in your interests to read every ebook out there so don’t do it. It is a waste of time, let alone money.

Use that time to follow a select few people and really put into practice what is being taught and shared – only then, once you get your hands dirty, will you discover what works for you.

    • I agree with you Rebecca, i am tired of all those guru emails and i recently unsubscribed from nearly all lists i was on. Now my inbox is free again.

Funny enough Mr Hansen is one of the only lists i choose to remain on. I have also just subscribed to yours. At least i know i will not get those launch emails which just make me sick.
