Taking a Breather – Affiliate Burnout
Posted on April 7th, 2010 5 commentsNot only have I not posted here on my blog for a while, I also haven’t been doing much work at all lately (hey I never said EVERY post here was going to be motivational
)Why?
The simple reason is that I’ve been feeling rather burnt out over the past few months. From April last year until around February this year I undertook an extraordinary amount of work to build up my online business. I wrote hundreds of articles, set up countless new sites, promoted, built links, researched new products and niches and so on.
There just comes a time where you, at least I, need to step away and take a breather. Dare I say it, I became bored of these tasks.
Burning yourself out with a constant and daily routine of work, work, work can lead to less production and more procrastination. I noticed over this period my productivity was gradually dropping, simply because I was becoming burnt out!
So for the past 2 months or so I’ve done very little indeed when it comes to any sort of work. And you know what? I don’t feel one tiny bit guilty about it! In fact, it’s wonderful and I’m now ready to put in another 3 or 4 months of solid work. That’s the beauty of all this – you really can work just 6 months out of a year if you want to and if you play your cards right.
So, I’m back and I do hope some of you at least haven’t given up on this blog

Glad to see you back blogging. How did your business do while you took a break?

Hi,
Most I speak to who have not attempted to make money through the web, seem to think it makes itself. They need to read posts like yours to see the level of work that goes into it.
Wish you all the best following your recuperation!
Cheers,
Matt
