Firstly, I want to thank you for such an in depth review and opinion of NBI, I enjoyed reading it!
I did recommend NBI when it first came out as I thought it looked like a good, comprehensive learning experience for people who wanted to find all the information in one place. I still think that, although I haven't logged in for some time myself, and granted, have not used the customer support so I was interested to read what you had to say about that.
There is no "do this, do that and you'll make money". There just isn't and there never will be. You're spot on - it can all be found for free on the web if people can be bothered searching for learning - some can, some can't.
It is disappointing to hear about your experience with NBI, but I wouldn't dwell on it too much. You can DEFINITELY be successful without using any programs or memberships. They aren't for everyone
Web hosting is such a saturated, highly competitive niche. I wouldn't recommend it as a starting point if you're looking for quick results, simply due to the sheer amount of competition. You are right, it's not a niche, it's a full blown market and one of the toughest to crack into. I recommend working on your web hosting blog for the long term, but also creating smaller, real niche sites, that will have more of a chance of faster traffic generation due to less competition.

I am going to speak from experience here. I have always been fascinated by people that work smarter not harder and niche blogging seems to be a great way to use critical and imaginative thinking to make money. The bad part is that for newbies that know nothing about blogging, wordpress, keyword research etc, there is so much scam, misinformation out there that it is totally frustrating and almost impossible to feel like spending money on training is really worth it. So I gave "niche blogging institute" a try. There really is tons of great information on their site, so much in fact that it is really overwhelming because there is tons of training but no real step by step guide of how to implement it. I mean there is some info about how to install wordpress, how to use cpanel, how to use clickbank etc. but there is nothing re-assuring on the site, nothing that says "hey this is how its done" and if you are paying money it should. Moving on, the customer support is really bad, many times I would submit a ticket and get an answer back that made no sense at all and I would have to reply to that email and ask them "why did you say this when it has nothing to do with my question" etc. I also payed $67 to have them "fast track" me a blog of my own which you can find at www.topwebsitehostreviews.com , the blog is decent enough but the main complaint is that they took about 5 days telling me that they were researching me a "niche" , how on earth in web host reviews a "niche" , there are already 1000's upon 1000's of sites out there reviewing every possible angle of web hosting. Another issue is that Andere Hansen himself on one of the confirmation pages gives you his personal email to ask him questions about anything you cant get answered on the website via support forums etc. I was really interested in his keyword research technique, once I thought I had really figured it out I sent numerous emails to him to try to ask him if my formula was correct but I never heard back, I would also post my questions about the keyword research techniques in the forums but never got any response. I honestly think that I figured out his keyword technique a little to quickly and they didn't want to just give away such a big chunk to info to me while I was still in my trial period. Another issue that concerned me when I signed up was that there is a "facebook" like feel to the site (that is cool and useful) with tons of member listings and what level the user is at in the program, but when you try to contact the users non of them are still active, some people choose to have their email displayed and when I emailed them directly they all said the same thing, NBI is great for newbies but overall everything in there can be found for free on the web. Also it really concerned me that they kept all these profiles listed as active members when in actuality very few of the active profiles were still customers of NBI. One guy I chatted with had be using the system for a while and said he liked it because it was insightful but overall the system is not necessary to create a successful blog. Back to support issues, I was getting close to the 30 day mark and I submitted a support ticket to ask "because there is no clear cut way presented on the website, I would like to know what are the steps needed to take to cancel an account with NBI, should I decide within the trial period that I want to cancel my account" , the response I got was this " we are sorry you were not happy with NBI, your account has been terminated and your money refunded" - all I asked was what steps needed to be taken, not to cancel my account, I really didn't want to cancel it but it just showed again how unorganized the team at nbi is behind the scenes, The last thing that I had issues with was the person that was assigned to work with me to set up my blog, I would ask very basic questions via email and get really asinine responses to the questions I had about where we were in the setup process, keyword research etc. Also it was such a bummer that once my blog was set up it just basically felt like a sale pitch. I was sent an email that said something to the effect of " your new blog is active, now start making money and get signed up with firepow" the big pitch early on is how they are going to create you a great "niche" blog , if a blog is so much of a "niche" then why would I need additional paid services to generate content for it, shouldn't a niche blog be relatively successful with minimal basic content?

Anyway I must say that once inside of nicheblogginginstitute.com there is tons of interesting info, lots of cool videos that show and explain how to get from A to B in certain process, how to find affiliate deals but overall I just felt let down, I was really ready to get going and they kind of limit you to the amount of material you can access. I dont recommend this program for someone that actually has more than 1 hour a day to work on a blog, I work in a restaurant and surf, so I have many hours a day and that's what I was looking for, something I could dive into and digest and get going with but this system seemed slow and more geared toward a person that has a day job and needs a slower pace to get things going. Overall NBI is Worth a shot though cause they have a money back guarantee so if you are not happy or they think you are not happy they will just cancel your account and refund your money.

The trouble utilizing Private label rights blog posts and articles is that most people don't utilize it effectively. People should really either utilize it to build ideas for subject areas to write about or perhaps fully re-write it or spin it and later put their own brand on it.

A niche market is a focused, targetable portion of a market.

By definition, then, a business that focuses on a niche market is addressing a need for a product or service that is not being addressed by mainstream providers. You can think of a niche market as a narrowly defined group of potential customers.

For instance, instead of offering cleaning services, a business might establish a niche market by specializing in blind cleaning services.

Why should you bother to establish a niche market? Because of the great advantage of being alone there; other small businesses may not be aware of your particular niche market, and large businesses won't want to bother with it.

The trick to capitalizing on a niche market is to find or develop a market niche that has customers who are accessible, that is growing fast enough, and that is not owned by one established vendor already.

Peter, sorry for the delay in responding! You've probably already discovered your own answers to this, but I will reply anyway.

No, Firepow and NBI are completely different. Firepow is more about setting up the blogs and maintaining them, whilst NBI gives you ideas and strategies to build your online business.

You can certainly use one without the other.

Hope this helps!

Hi Rebecca,

I saw your posting in the Warrior Forum and just wanted to know if I need Andrew's NBI and FP2 as a complete package? One is $39.99 and FP2 is $127 a month. Is there a combined 'deal' price?

I haven't time to learn all the FTP and technicals that is not my forte! I just want to market and promote and create half decent landing pages for affiliate marketing.

Thanks.
