Facts About Clickbank
Posted on July 8th, 2009 1 commentClickbank is an online marketplace where people can sell ebooks, software and other digital products.
Affiliates can promote these products for a cut of the sale.
If you have bought any ebooks in the past few years you would have no doubt been told at some point that Clickbank is a great place to start your affiliate marketing efforts. But is it?
Here are some quick facts about Clickbank that I’ve concluded from my time marketing online.
- 1. The top products are extremely saturated when it comes to traditional marketing avenues like PPC, article marketing, social media etc – newbies may (or will) find it hard to compete.
- 2. New affiliate marketers fall into the thought that CB is the FIRST place to start online – I don’t agree with this. Reason #1 is a factor here.
- 3. It is NOT always easier to sell digital goods compared with physical products – despite what the gurus tell you.
- 4. Clickbank seems to go through stages of not reporting sales correctly, as evidenced by people who see regular sales suddenly seeing massive conversion drop off’s at the same time as many other affiliates are seeing the same problem. This leads to reliability issues.
I’m not knocking Clickbank – I still promote some products from CB, but I urge you not to rely on it for 100% of your affiliate marketing efforts.
